All Kinds of Lovely...

  Hi! Yep, it's me...*slacker blogger* here. I'm back. Back with big hopes of once again jumping into writing more regularly. I've missed being here. I mean, I've really missed you. My heart yearns to connect with you and to write more frequently about the turning point I am facing, and all the things going on behind the curtain. 

    Over the days, weeks, and months ahead, I hope to use this blog as an opportunity to extend to you a glimpse of my truth-seeking attempts of living an authentic life from every angel. But...before I delve too deeply in the soul-shifts that are underway, there is a pretty big, and awfully exciting announcement that I've been waiting to share with you.

     It's the kind of news that made my heart flutter with hope, and put a smile on my face that lasted for days. I am so excited to finally be able to let the cat out of the bag and tell you my good news...

    Sooooo, remember how I told you that I was casting my net far and wide into the universe to gather some up some "Lovely"???? Well, it's arrived...and her name is Amy Krouse Rosenthal . Amy is full of all kinds of lovely. She's the incredibly creative soul behind several children's books, like...

    She's also the author of the New York Times best seller "Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life", which has touched the hearts of many. She somehow, someway, amazingly enough also finds the energy to host a Public Radio show, called "The Writers' Block Party" in Chicago.  She's a soul searcher, day dreamer, greeting card maker, coffee lover, twirler of a bright yellow umbrella, and a girl whose lovely light of being is casting a big, bright, and beautiful spark of hope far across the world.

    Her latest creative endeavor is a film project called, "The Beckoning of Lovely". When I first saw the video on You-Tube, I knew that I wanted to reach out to her, and hoped to be a part of the film in some kind of way. I thought about submitting one of my paintings, or poems...but instead, (and on a total whim)... I sent in an application for a formal position in her film making cabinet.

    Well, (insert sound of drum-roll here....) The happy, ecstatic, my heart skipped a beat and I'm over the moon excited to tell you all about it announcement is that... I was selected!!!

    Yours truly, has been given the honer of holding a position in the Department of Interior for the film, "The Beckoning of Lovely'! Wooo-hooo! So, what's a medium,angel whisperer girl like me going to do in the Dept of Interior for a film, you ask?? Well...good question! It's going to be my privilege to provide spiritual support/intuitive guidance/and good juju for the film!!! How cool is that???

    Even more exciting is that I'll be flying to LA in September to shoot the last scene of the film. Without giving too much away, I'm most thrilled because it's a scene that involves DANCE (my first love)!!So, after many years...I'll be dusting off my dancing shoes & shaking it with cameras rolling somewhere in the streets of Los Angeles. What could be any more fun??

    My sweet peas, thanks for letting me share my bit of sunshine! It warms my heart to be given a chance to be a part of something so magical, and I'm grateful that I will get to share the journey with you. Orange Sky....

My Dear Hearts,

Where do I begin???? Soooooo much is swirling in and around me. As of late, my personal life has been more than a little Topsy~turvy, it's been FULL of major twists and turns. I'm holding steady, and keeping my heart open to receive the universe's gift of sudden change. During this trying time, I've been blessed to receive an outpouring of love and support from my strong circle of family and friends.

A few nights ago, as I was leaving the grocery store, I stepped outside to find this amazing sunset greeting me. I stood there frozen in mid step with my cart halfway down the parking lot, looking at the colors filling this unforgettable orange sky. My eyes filled with tears as I witnessed the beauty of a simple moment in time.

With the girls patiently awaiting me and already in the car, in that brief moment of clarity...I realized many things. I grabbed my camera and shot a quick picture because the experience felt so big. I honestly felt like my heart might burst from the emotion I was feeling, and the warmth I received from the suns healing rays.

On my way home, I humbly asked my angels and guides for *signs* and validations that I am not alone on this journey, and especially during this important crossroad(s) in my life. The whole way home, I held back tears as I admired that beautiful, bright, and brilliant orange sky. The simple words "Orange Sky" rang in my ear, and became etched in my mind. Not surprisingly, later that night I randomly came across a song entitled, "Orange Sky". My arms filled with goosebumps as I listened to the words.

My precious friends, fellow seekers of truth and all that is good in this world...I invite you to stand with me, beneath a canopy of an Orange Sky...

All that Glitters is not Gold...

is a simple way to say that...not everything is what it seems. The saying comes from Shakespeare's 15th century play, The Merchant of Venice. The line is derived from the drama surrounding the heroine of the play, Portia.

"All that glisters is not gold;
Often have you heard that told:
Many a man his life hath sold
But my outside to behold:
Gilded tombs do worms enfold.
Had you been as wise as bold,
Young in limbs, in judgement old
Your answer had not been inscroll'd
Fare you well, your suit is cold."

It is also Portia who delivers the beautiful speech about Mercy and the forgiveness of human souls...

"The quality of mercy is not strain'd.

It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven

Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:

It blesseth him that gives and him that takes."

My wish for every soul reading this, is the wisdom to mindfully know that nothing is what it may appear to be...especially as it may seem at first glance.  I wish you the comfort that comes from knowing and trusting that everything unfolding in your life is happening for you, rather than to you. Most especially, know this when you feel like asking..."Why Me?" No matter how deep the pain, how great the sorrow, know and believe that everything is happening for a reason. The good, the bad, the beautiful, and everything in between. GOD is always present, and truly is in both the profound, and the profane.

Our greatest soul struggles, challenges, and heartaches are simply *his* gifts from the universe that have been placed perfectly before us....waiting for us to find the courage to open and explore the changes they bring. It is a choice to open ourselves to receive the blessings and treasures hidden beneath their surface.

I am in the process of knowing, trusting, and believing this to be true in my own life. I am learning that the greatest of these gifts are the tiny specks of light which begin to sparkle and shine from the pinholes of our broken hearts as we move through the various situations, events, and outcomes of our lives that often cause us a great and deep amount of pain.

By gently navigating our way through the troubled waters of our lives and experiencing the dark-night-of-our-soul, we are given a chance to remember, reclaim, and embrace our own eternal strength. For without our Spirits willingness to boldly and bravely dance in the dark every now and then, we would otherwise miss the opportunity to experience the triumph, beauty, and glow of our own inner light...

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life's betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy

and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes

It doesn't interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.

after the night of grief and despair

and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.
