I <3 Ben Harper. While I may no longer be wearing diamonds on the outside, I hope to have them where it matters most...on the inside.
I'm a little bummed that after several years of going to Jazz Fest in New Orleans, that I don't think it's in the
cards for me this year. Ben will take the stage on 4/30 with a
gazillion other soulful artists who I'd love to see, but instead of being
in the sea of beautiful people jamming together under the endless
Louisiana sky, I'll be sitting here at the comfort of my desk playing this video over
& over! If I close my eyes reeeealy tight, I can pretend to see the
colorful flags floating above the Fairgrounds, hear the waves of bass
building in the distance, smell the yummy food being cooked on the
grill, and taste my favorite Rose Mint Iced Tea being brewed under the
big white tents. Seriously, if music,food, and fun are your thing, this really is
the place to be. One of the coolest things about Jazz Fest is after the
sun sets and random artists (think Lenny Kravitz,Van Morrison,Jack
Johnson) show up in tiny pubs to do impromptu sets in the wee hours of
the night.The more I think of missing it, the more I wonder about
making a spontaneous road trip!!! 'Til I decide, I'll be enjoying the
sweet 'lil jam. :-)
