Here's an important post I started a few weeks ago, but still want to share! :-)
Be back soon to write about the magic of my California trip...
Hola...precious hearts!
How's your day? Mine has been exciting. Last week, was a super busy for me with tons of time in the office and lots of hearts being healed. What I've slowly learned about myself over the years is that I typically have only two speeds, either going a gazillion miles an hour...or simply just slugging along. There's no middle speed! This week I was totally in the zone, and got so much done that I am really grateful to have the weekend to just chill. I was rocking and rolling alllllll week long. I cleaned out closets, got laundry put away, organized the house so the cleaning fairies (aka housekeepers) could scrub, the gardeners blew away all the fallen leaves, I had my nails perfectly manicured, the girls got cute haircuts, and got some skating in! Ooooh, I can't tell you how good it feels to have a perfectly clean house, a cleaned-out car, pretty nails, and wheels on my feet...ALL AT THE SAME TIME! :-)
Last week, I had a phenomenal time in the office doing an abundance of sessions, and met some truly amazing people. My heart swelled even more when I realized that it was 2/2/2010 and so the highlight of my week quickly became picking up my dear friend, Rebecca's book at Barnes & Noble. Seriously! It was such a surreal experience to walk in & see it sitting so pretty on the shelf! She told me that she'd be mailing a copy to me....but I just couldn't wait to get it via snail mail, so to the bookstore I went. Whoa! I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of her and the beauty of this book.
Rebecca is one of my nearest and dearest friends who I've always held very close to my heart. She's my "Everything" friend. She is someone that I connect with on EVERY level. Not only does our friendship feed me spiritually, but also in the let's go shopping, talk-about-girlie stuff- and find the perfect color of lip gloss kind of way, too. It's not often that you find all of that wrapped up in ONE girlfriend! So often, we rely only on certain friends to fulfill certain needs...and it's really a blessing when you have someone in your life that you can relate to on so many levels.
Our friendship bloomed when we met doing an angel class with Dr. Doreen Virtue, Ph.D, almost 10 years ago. We were the youngest participants in Doreen's very first ever "Angel Therapy Practitioners" course, and mysteriously kept being drawn to one another and unintentionally sitting right beside each other during the first couple of hours of the class. We had so many things in common, that once we started talking, it was hard for us to stop. We giggled and laughed about all the bizarre synchronistic happenings in our lives (both of our moms named "Jan", getting married on the same weekend in June, carrying the EXACT same journal, our dark hair pulled back in headbands, having the same sweatshirt, drawing the same symbols when asked to interpret our dreams in pictures, it went on & on...) We both felt in meeting one another that we had been friends before, and we agreed that our angels had clearly orchestrated a divine intervention to help us find one another again.
Under the magic of the moon in Laguna Beach, Ca, our friendship grew into one of the most treasured relationships of my life. She has been a HUGE part of my own spiritual journey, and I feel so blessed that the angels brought us together at such an early stage in our spiritual paths and have allowed me to have someone to share this unique experience of being a medium with. In many ways, it's been incredibly motivating and inspirational to enjoy the ride with her as her life and career have changed and grown over the years.
It wasn't too many moons ago, when she came to Houston for a quick visit that we had our usual girl-talk about shopping for a new dress to wear during an upcoming trip to New York for a meeting with her book agent. We laughed about her growing pregnant belly (it's hard to believe that Sam is already one-year-old now!) and how well she would navigate in that big city all by herself. Little did we know, that those meetings would go sooooooo well, that not only would she would land multiple offers, but that Harper Collins would eventually be the highest bidder in a bidding war over rights to her book.
It was a busy and beautiful year for both of us, but most especially for her, being pregnant AND writing a book! (Anyone who has ever been pregnant...or written a book....knows what a huge feat that is!) It was so thrilling and fun watching all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place as Spirit guided her process of getting this book into the hands of those who need it.
So, now here we are, years in the making and she has an extremely successful private practice, a beautiful book on the shelf, numerous appearances on tv after tv show, radio gigs, celebrity clients, the whole bit...and she is still one of the most grounded, beautiful, and humble people I know. I was honored to make a quick road trip to Austin while she was doing a stop on her national book tour to have a long lunch before her event. It was a gorgeous day, and as always, it was good for my soul to spend some quality time with her. On a quaint outdoor patio, we laughed, (and almost cried!) as we re-connected and got caught up on all the not so glamorous parts of our lives over the past year, the pretty stuff, and everything in between.
My wish for every one reading this, is for you to have the gift of a friendship that nurtures you, feeds you, challenges you, helps you to grow, inspires you by reminding you of your own divine potential, and offers the kind of unconditional love and support the way that Rebecca has done for me over the past 10 years.
I am soooooooo beyond proud of all that my dear friend has accomplished in her short life and for her amazing work in the world. I am a better person for having her powerful presence in my inner-most circle of family and friends!
By sharing the gifts that Rebecca's friendship has brought into my life, I encourage you to dig a little deeper within your own collection of friends, and remind you to celebrate the success of all those you love (be it their BIG dreams or the small ones which often start out like little teeny tiny seeds)...and help you to embrace the magic of all those special souls who we call "friends" who show up in our lives to lift our hearts and help our spirits soar.
In friendship, feathers, and faith,
Here are some clips of her recent media blitz...it's so fun to see this stuff making it's way to the mainstream!! (& I'm so proud of you.....and the way you R-E-P-R-E-S-E-N-T!)

A gift from my heart to hers...
During our lunch, we noticed that the boutique across the street was
appropriately named "Feathers". Being the angel-lovers we are, we
chuckled...
Until next time! See you soon in Denver...
Hugs to my sweet "Bella Sorella"...
P.S. (Warning...yes, here comes the book plug!) I do hope that you might consider picking up her sweet book, "Spirited". (I got a kick out of her mentioning me and my balloon releasement exercise in the chapter about the work of "letting go". Thanks, love!)
