::: SUMMER :::
Field Day and Boogie Down Brittmore marked the end of school...
Every year, we load up wagons with water balloons to throw at the graduating 5th graders as they make their way from the school to the neighborhood pool for an end of the school year party...
Time to let our hair down and have some silly fun...
Awww....looky here. In June, our wedding anniversary rolls around. The husby made me a collection of super sweet wedding anniversary gifts. One of them was this chalkboard heart that he put at the bathroom sink...and every morning he leaves handwritten messages for me...
Umm, yeah. This one made me cry. It was a piece of art made of metal that was a broken heart with stitches putting the pieces of the heart back together again. Perfect for a "heart healer" like me.
Here's the heart sitting at my sink, with a special message about "cupcakes"...
As a family, every year we make a voyage to the ocean for some summertime sun. This is absolutely the highlight of my entire year because I really am a mermaid at heart...and LOVE being in the ocean blue.
Florida Beach Bunnies...
Uh, mom...watch out, there's a wave about to land on your head....
Oops, too late!
Ha ha ha! Joke's on me....
Blue Angels in the sky...
Angels on earth...
My niece looks so uncomfortable here, lol...and is probably feeling just a wee bit claustrophobic...
She is so done....
My mermaid fin is lurking under there...
Reading one of favorite books, "A Return to Love" by Marianne Williamson...
After our beach trip, we went to Denver, Colorado to visit my bestie. It was a bittersweet trip because while I was flying there...my puppy died. We adopted her on our 11th wedding anniversary, and grew incredibly close and attached to her very quickly. I had a terrible feeling when I left Houston and thought about not going on the trip because I was so anxious about leaving her. She was in perfect health the morning that I said goodbye to her but by the time my flight touched down in Denver, she slipped into a coma and passed away that afternoon. Being so far away from home, and not wanting to upset the girls while I was gone was excruciating . Knowing that once I returned home, that I would have to break the news to the girls was the yuckiest feeling ever. Thankfully, I was able to nurse my broken heart with the comfort of one of dearest friends. (It also helps that she is an amazing psychic medium too, and very graciously delivered healing messages to help me from "The Trinity"....)
Mediums at large...{me and my bestie}
I adore Boulder! Where else can you hear and see musicians playing like this in the cool summer breeze?
I spy a fairy...
Make a wish...
I've always called him my "Mountain Dew" boy because he is always riding/climbing/surfing something! So here he is, living up to his name...
I think I'll stay at this elevation, thank you very much! :-)
In fields of green...
The next couple of weeks were filled with trips to the lake, sunsets, slip-n-slides, rope swings, long naps, and afternoons spent fishing with friends....
See, told you he is always climbing something!! lol...
Gross stinky fish. Yuck-ola...
Can I just tell you how many Barbie fishing poles we've dropped in the lake? lol..too many to count!
Summer night sky...
Sacred lake...
In August, we went on one last hu-ra-ra and took a family cruise to St. Thomas...
I wasn't kidding when I told you I was leaving to sip sugary drinks with little umbreallas sticking out of the top!
The girls were wondering why I don't fold towels like this at home. I guess if I did laundry, maybe I could learn? lol...
Girls, please step away from the pole...lol...

Just after dinner, it was crazy Karaoki time. How cute is this? My little bro, Poppa James, and my youngest singing "War Pigs". Seriously.
When they fininshed, she was so proud! After all, being 6 and bolting out the lyrics to Black Sabbath on stage is quite the accomplishment. At least in our family it is....lol!
High five, little bunny! Congrats, you did it...
Next, it was Allie's turn. She sang "Bootilicious" and smashed it. My little rump shaker was all over the place and made her momma proud. :-)
Our last day at the Beach came all too quickly and before we knew it, our ship was going to set sail.
Right about now, she's screaming..."Uncle!!"
Peace, love, and shopping {in the Bahamas...}
I can use my spidey senses to find a Starbucks, anywhere!!!
As much as they loved going to a formal dinner every night, the girls hated me primping them for pictures!
Lol, believe it or not, there is a lot of negoiating going on to get these shots:
And finally, she is FREE!!!
Summah was fun, yo! ;-) Hope yours was a happy one, too!
xoxo,
